Course Outline
e-Class

The aim of the course is to provide students with the theoretical and practical background required for the design, development and application of Geoinformatics methods and techniques in spatial planning. By integrating Geoinformatics, the course makes use of information technologies for the collection, organization, processing, analysis and management of data containing geographic information in digital form.

Students will also come into contact for the first time, in the conventional way, with drafting instruments, in order to learn where and how to use them for technical drawing and the relevant techniques. In addition, they will have the opportunity to carry out design applications using the computer as a modern drafting tool.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:

·         know the tools, methods and rules for creating and processing topographic drawings in a digital environment

·         become familiar with reading, interpreting and using a drawing appropriately

use and process design software packages such as AutoCAD and SketchUp.
